Q.  Where is Tebedu Inland Port located? (Map)
A.  Tebedu Inland Port is located about 85km from Kuching, the state capital of Sarawak and about 370km from Pontianak, the provincial capital of West Kalimantan, Indonesia.


Q.  Is Tebedu Inland Port a private company?
A.  Although Tebedu Inland Port is managed by SM Inland Port Sdn Bhd, a private company, it is under purview of the Kuching Port Authority, a government agency with the Sarawak Ministry of Infrastructure and Communications. SM Inland Port Sdn Bhd is appointed by the Sarawak Government as the approved port operator.

A.  1 May 2011


Q.  What are the primary objectives of Tebedu Inland Port?
A.  Tebedu Inland Port facilitates the growing volume of cross-border trade between West Kalimantan and Sarawak. The establishment of Tebedu Inland Port offers certainty of business and is a means of the Sarawak Government to counter smuggling at the border. It also serves as a gateway to international markets for the interior of Borneo. Importers and exporters can use Tebedu Inland Port as a transshipment hub and cargoes can be re-branded and re-packaged before onward transport to international markets.


Q.  How can I export my cargo to international market?
A.  From Tebedu Inland Port, cargo (containerized or bulk) for export to the international market is transported to Senari Container Terminal, Kuching. Located about 100km from Tebedu Inland Port, Senari Container Terminal has feeder connection to Port Klang, Singapore, China and Hong Kong.

A.  As a registered port user, you can access TIP Portal to make online booking of services, track and monitor your cargo.


Q.  How do I register as a port user of Tebedu Inland Port?
A.  To register as a port user, please fill in the form and submit it for processing. Once the application is completed, you will be informed. Alternatively, please call our Customer Service.

Q.  What documents are needed to import goods from West Kalimantan?
A.  An importer from Sarawak needs to fill in the Integrated Import Document issued by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department.


Q.  What documents are needed to export goods to West Kalimantan?
A.  An exporter from Sarawak needs to fill in the Integrated Export Document issued by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department.


Q.  Does a tourist from West Kalimantan need to go through Tebedu Inland Port when visiting Sarawak?
A.  Tourists can use the existing Immigration Check-point and do not have to go through Tebedu Inland Port.
